I used to track my spending, and sometimes I will be wasting 30 minutes or more figuring where the $1.70 went, what did I forgot. I always convince myself 'it's not about the money, it's where the process went wrong that I do not recognize'. Eventually I realize the 30 minutes I spent thinking (and reflecting) doesn't worth the value, I could easily gain more than $1.70 in 30 minutes by letting...

Slightly different opinion here, not hacks but some mindset: Reed Hastings when starting Netflix (he's the CEO) wanted to award bonuses to their marketing/ user team for achieving high customer acquisition. Until the marketing/ user team leader told him the key now is to increase the user retention rate rather than focusing on acquisition. Gotta focus on the right metric rather than the vanity...

Island by Aldous Huxley is one that changed (or validated) my worldview. The hard thing about hard things by Ben Horowitz is a hell of a ride if you plan to know what to prepare for in detail as you scale your business. I hope you have some time for them!
