About

I have been an information security and cybersecurity engineer for 13 years. For the past three months, I have been developing “Syswarden,” an open-source host-based security orchestrator for Linux. The goal of this tool is to reduce the noise generated by botnets, zombie PCs, AI bots, etc., at the L2/L3 layer (kernel layer) using blocklists, and to focus on genuine L4/L7 signals with Fail2ban and/or ModSecurity. This tool has already proven itself among various system administrators, and Linux distributions and companies have forked it to integrate their own modules and features.

Syswarden - Open-Source Host-based Security Orchestrator for Linux

SysWarden is an ultra-lightweight Host-based Security Orchestrator for Linux. Acting as a powerful alternative to eBPF/XDP, it drops malicious packets directly at the hardware level (Layer 2/3) to prevent CPU overhead By fusing Data-Shield IPv4 blocklists, CINS Army, Blocklist.de, GeoIP, ASN tracking, a dynamic L7 WAF (Fail2ban), and a strict Zero-Trust Catch-All policy, it neutralizes 97% of internet noise with a near-zero memory footprint.
