Raised in the corn fields and cranberry bogs of midwestern Wisconsin, at a young age Ryan became obsessed with products and design when he learned he could use acrylic paints on his father's spare wood blocks and turn them into miniatures of his favorite cereal boxes. He launched Hipstamatic with his long-time business partner (and University of Wisconsin colleague) Lucas Buick in the waning days of 2009. Since then he's worked on a steady stream of nostalgia-fueled, analog-inspired iPhone apps; including IncrediBooth, SwankoLab, and most recently Party! Disposable Camera.
