How do you plan to retain the users you’ve gained after the initial launch?

One thing I ve always found interesting especially with successful launches that make it to the top of the day or top3 of the day is how founders manage to keep the users they acquire after launching on Product Hunt. Even beyond those top launches, anyone who gains users from a launch faces the challenge of retention. Many users won t like the platform, some will decide they don t want to pay the price, and others will find a better competitor. I m really curious about the strategies you use post-launch to keep users engaged and prevent churn. From what I ve observed, there are usually two common approaches: 1. Do nothing and hope that paying users don t notice or care enough to cancel, so they keep subscribing. 2. Actively engage users by asking what they like or dislike, offering discounts, or providing extra perks to encourage them. What's your approach?

🔥Here is the only plan you need to prepare for Product Hunt launch

On February 4th, we're launching chatbase.co on Product Hunt! Here's a plan on how you can also prepare for this big day. bare in mind I launched 10 products with all of them being in the top 5 places. Product Hunt is more than just a launch platform it s a powerful tool for visibility and growth. But, success on Product Hunt requires careful planning, active engagement, and a coordinated effort before, during, and after launch day. Pre-Launch Preparation (4-Week Countdown) Identify Your Target Audience: Know your customers and where they hang out online. Engage on Relevant Channels: Build a community around your product. Here's how: Twitter/X Use Twitter/X to find and connect with your target audience. Create a spreadsheet to track key contacts. Message them directly to introduce your product and explain how you re solving their problems. Reddit Reddit can drive a lot of visibility, although maintaining direct contact is harder. Use Reddit as a soft launch platform to get early feedback and collect emails. LinkedIn LinkedIn is great for connections. Reach out to people for interviews, ask about their challenges, and introduce your product as a solution. Forums and Communities Join Slack and Discord groups relevant to your niche. Participate in discussions and DM key individuals. Add them to your contact sheet. 2 Create Buzz Social Media: Regularly share updates on Twitter/X. Image Email Engagement: Use your collected emails to keep people in the loop. loops is great for this. ProductHunt Presence: Engage on Product Hunt by joining discussions, commenting, and starting conversations. Create at least one discussion post daily. 3 Analytics Setup Use tools like posthog to track your engagement and adjust your strategy accordingly. 4 Build a Support Network Add interested contacts to a spreadsheet. Personalized outreach before launch day is crucial to ensuring strong support. Choosing the Right Launch Day Research the average number of upvotes needed to rank in the top 10. Use tools like the hunteddotspace calendar to choose a good launch date. The 24-Hour Product Hunt Battle Plan Wave 1: The Initial Push Mobilize your community: Reach out through Twitter/X, Reddit, LinkedIn, and direct messages. Aim for 20% more upvotes than the average: This will boost visibility early on. Wave 2: Aiming for the Top 5 Intensify engagement: Focus on Twitter/X and Product Hunt. Encourage your network: Share the launch link and ask for support in relevant groups. Wave 3: Securing Your Position Maintain momentum: Once you hit the top 5, focus on staying there. Engage with the community: Comment and interact on Product Hunt to keep your product visible. Winning on Product Hunt isn t just about the launch day itself it s about everything leading up to it. By preparing in advance, engaging with your audience, and building a solid support network, you set yourself up for success. Product Hunt can be a game-changer for your product, creating opportunities for future growth. Make sure your community is ready to back you when it matters most!
