Hi everyone, I'm the technical founder and CEO of CameraLends. Our iPhone app is new, but it's the same great nationwide local camera rental service that you've grown to love. I'll be around to answer any question, so don't be shy!

@koesbong no worries, this is a fantastic discussion. 2500 was arbitrarily chosen to limit CameraLends liability. Almost all equipment on the site can be replaced for less than that. Lender=owner, renter=borrower The renter adds the protection coverage, not the lender. But yes, it still allows your scenario to happen. Currently, it's the renter's responsibility to verify the equipment is in...

@koesbong as a lender, yes, you're covered. The renter can either assume full responsibility or add a protection fee to their reservation to cover up to 2500. I'm happy to say that there have been zero instances of damaged or lost goods since launching. "big shoots" imply big budgets, so yea, BorrowLenses or LensRental might be perfect for what you need. CameraLends is better if: -...

@rrhoover people are *surprisingly* willing to lend out their gear, or at least make it available. $50/hr is more than a lot of good programmers think they're worth and is completely reasonable compared to what expert consultants pay. I still haven't decided if all review costs the same, or if different experts can set different rates.

@leemunroe have you seen CoderPad.io? He's had decent traction selling to startups who do a lot of phone screens. I could intro you, if interested.

@rrhoover I started using Draft yesterday :) Professional editing on demand is nice, but having a writing equivalent of Pull Requests is the killer feature for me. Currently, the use case has been reviewing code written by contractors. But my sample size is still small CodeShare.io looks neat, but also closer to my friend's CoderPad.io than matchmaking software experts. Definitely an...

Hey everyone, I've been building this product out for the last four weeks. I know there's a need for this service, I just need to find potential customers and make sure the web site looks appealing to them. I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions you have!
