Launching Pinglight.io today!
I just launched Pinglight, and it comes straight out of a few painful monitoring gaps I ve lived through. At a startup doing over $12M ARR, we tried to get serious about observability, but Splunk wouldn t really give us the time of day, and Datadog was powerful but needed months of onboarding and training before we could get any real value. Later, at a corporate job, I was asked to build an uptime monitor for our databases; we still had an outage that slipped through, and the first alert was a customer complaint late on a Sunday night. Between too heavy to adopt and not wired tightly enough to actually save us, it became obvious to me that small teams and solo founders need something much simpler. A safety net they can set up in minutes and trust to alert them when it matters.
Pinglight is my attempt at that. Straightforward uptime checks for your app and API, heartbeat URLs for cron jobs and workers so silent failures get caught, and clean hosted status pages you can point your customers to. I care a lot about observability, but I want it to be realistic for tiny teams who don t have an SRE function and whose time really matters. If you have a moment to check out the launch, I d really appreciate feedback, especially what you d need to trust this in production, and what one feature you wish a tool like this had that you haven t found yet.
