When researching the approach to take with this project, Exploding Topics had the cleanest UX and transparent pricing of all "trend sites" that I looked at. The initial SaaSy Trends design is clearly inspired from Exploding Topics, although we'll hopefully branch off into a more defined and unique style of our own in time.
I tested several models and APIs to generate reliable structured data from each SaaS company's website, and GPT4 was the only one with sufficient quality.
