Heptabase
The team advertises "access with blazing-fast speed" on their landing page, but unfortunately the product falls short as soon as you start to use it beyond a simple demo. Whiteboards with 100s of cards and pdf highlights are slow and laggy, with no improvement in sight. The performance gap between Hepta and something like MarginNote is huge. I hope they address this immediately, because I am already on the hunt for other tools that can perform to fit my (very basic) use-case.

Supernotes
While I like a lot of the app, there are some big downsides. Features take years to implement, quite literally. In a super competitive space like note taking, this is hard to get over. I know that it is only a team of two, so perhaps some expansion is needed there. There are great collaboration features. I am sure these are tough to build, but I personally have zero interest in using the tool in any way other than individually. This is why the 3.0 release felt like a big letdown. The major features like collaboration and offline sync provide little to no benefit to me specifically. The mobile app is decent, but not very performant. Gimmicky features like earning points for using the app feel like a massive waste of dev hours. I wish some critical functionality was addressed instead. I hope the team focuses on actual deep PKM features and addresses the super slow feature releases. I have started to experiment with replacement options already.
