The "Lifetime" Deal That Didn't Last a Lifetime šš
TL;DR: Bought a "Lifetime Deal" for Parsio in 2022. In 2025, they decided "lifetime" means 1-3.5 years. Now pushing paid subscriptions. Proceed with caution, fellow hunters! šØ
Hey Product Hunt fam! š Dropping in with a heads-up about my experience with Parsio. As we all know, lifetime deals can be game-changers for bootstrappers and startups, but this one didn't play out as expected.
The Good (while it lasted):
ā
Solid parsing functionality
ā
Worked as advertised for about 3 years
The Not-So-Good:
ā "Lifetime" apparently means 1-3.5 years
ā Sudden plan obsolescence announcement
ā Account access issues (still unresolved)
ā Pushed to migrate to a paid plan or feature-limited free tier
ā Support feels more like a chatbot than a human (and not a good one)
The Plot Twist:
In Feb 2025, Parsio dropped the bombshell that our "lifetime" plans were becoming obsolete. No prior heads-up, no grandfathering, just a "migrate or downgrade" ultimatum. š
Support Saga:
⢠Me: "I can't log in."
⢠Parsio: "Use forgot password."
⢠Me: "Still can't log in."
⢠Parsio: "Create a new account."
⢠Me: "But my lifetime plan..."
⢠Parsio: "Oh, that's actually only for a year." š¤¦āāļø
Lesson Learned:
Always read the fine print, even on PH deals. "Lifetime" might not mean what you think it means.
Questions for the Community:
1. Has anyone else experienced similar issues with Parsio?
2. What alternatives would you recommend for reliable parsing services?
3. How do you vet "lifetime" deals before jumping in?
Final Thoughts:
While Parsio's tech seemed solid, their business practices left a lot to be desired. As hunters, we're always on the lookout for the next big thing, but sometimes we need to watch out for each other too.
Remember: A deal is only as good as the company's word. Choose wisely, hunt responsibly! šµļøāāļøš

Mailercloud is super cool if you want to send a bunch of emails without getting a headache. It's like having a magic wand that helps you make and send emails really fast, and then it has just the right amount of analytics to get out! You can even make emails that talk directly to what different segments of customers like, which means they're more likely to read them. If you ever get stuck or something doesn't work, there's always a friendly staff member ready to help you out. Using Mailercloud has made sending emails way easier (especially with the new webhooks feature), and it's awesome for anyone who wants an alternative emailing software without breaking the bank.
What's great
responsive customer support (2)insightful analytics (3)webhooks feature (1)

I've been SendSpark customer for a a couple of years (love it!) because they've always been a forward thinking business. I love how easy it is to use their software to record quick videos and love the incorporation of the new Dynamic Videos with voice cloning. It is really going to be a game-changer for businesses - especially with cold outreach! Looking forward to even better features built with SendSpark.
