What's great

No ads or pop-ups, which I really appreciate.

I can just open the app and chat without being interrupted. It also feels smarter than a lot of other AI chat apps I’ve tried, and I like that I can create my own bot instead of being stuck with one preset personality.

What needs improvement

Maybe a bit more explanation at the start.

I was slightly unsure about a few things early on, but it wasn’t a big deal and I figured it out by using it.

vs Alternatives

I actually tried a lot of similar apps before this — probably more than ten.

What really bothered me with many of the more popular ones was how aggressive they felt. Every time I opened the app, there was a paywall or some kind of upgrade pop-up. On top of that, I kept getting push notifications almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day. For me, that completely ruined the experience.

When I look for an AI chat app, I just want a clean space to talk. I don’t want to be constantly reminded to pay or pulled out of the conversation for commercial reasons. With Spark, I haven’t received any marketing pushes so far, no forced pop-ups, no pressure to upgrade. That alone already puts it ahead of a lot of others I tried.

It also feels calmer overall, and being able to create my own bot instead of using a fixed preset makes it feel less generic. I ended up sticking with it mostly because it doesn’t get in the way.

What privacy protections exist for chat logs and data?

I don’t share anything sensitive, but I haven’t felt worried using it.

It feels similar to other chat apps in terms of privacy, and nothing stood out as uncomfortable.

Can you export or delete your conversation history easily?

I haven’t had to export anything, but I can delete conversations in the app pretty easily.

For me it feels straightforward enough, and I didn’t run into anything confusing around that.

Does it support voice input or output for chats?

I mostly use it with text.

That works fine for me, and the chat flow feels natural enough without needing voice.
