Ah! That's a really interesting take on such a common problem! And the product is sleek. Kudos!

It's always interesting to hear @benthompson and @jamesallworth discuss like this. In this episode, Ben discusses what he believes is the difference between internet services development, and product development and why it might not bode well for Apple. I know he has spent time at Apple, and so did I, but interestingly enough our take on this is quite different. I just “replied” to him on...

Thanks @joostschuur for hunting us! Just a bit of background. The whole idea of Forereads is very simple: Who better than noted experts to tell us which articles really matter? They have to track all that — their expertise requires it — and they know what is noise and what is genuinely interesting. And what if we could even find out when several experts share the same piece of content? Isn’t...

CSS frameworks are all the rage these days. Between Zurb's Foundation new v.6, Bootstrap upcoming v.4 and now this, there's a lot to choose from. Solid does look fairly similar to the other two though. It would be interesting to hear the developers' thoughts.

I haven't read your book yet, but your App Store experiments series (http://stuartkhall.com/posts/an-app-store-experiment-part-5-the-finale) was really, really insightful already. You definitely know the App Store very well. And the fact you are drawing from real experience is priceless. So I am really excited about this book!

It's very interesting. I am wondering, how do people react when they realise they need to give a kind of "blanket" access to all their emails? Do you get a lot of questions? I have read your FAQ and I understand what you are doing (only using headers), but with the recent and very public hacks, are people concerned? It seems to me emails can be very, very personal (I might have discussions with...

I have made quite a few updates to the product recently. Here is a short recap: 1- Investments. You can now see where people invested AND who invested in the same startups. E.g. people who share 4 or more investments with MG: http://gameofangels.com/?root_screen_name=mgsiegler&mode=investments&map_size=10&min_co_investments=4 2- Unicorns. Who invested in the current “unicorns”, and who have...

Thanks @_jacksmith for your feedback. On the rules: yes, you are right... Thing is, on the one hand I did not want to make it look too complicated and intimidating. I was thinking of providing additional details once the first results are in (i.e. when people will - hopefully! - really want to understand what happened). They will then be able to adjust their choices for the following months. On...

Michael, thanks for the kind words and thanks for the question. Totally agree. It's the reason why I built in a version of the "beauty contest" concept. Keynes came up with this. His idea was that people price shares not based on what they think their fundamental value is, but rather on what they think everyone else thinks their value is (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keynesian_beauty_contest)....

I just added journalists and influencers (well, some of them!). E.g. http://gameofangels.com/gaberivera cc @gaberivera @rrhoover @davidiwanow There is no "definite" (and API-able) list as far as I know. So I used various sources, for instance http://www.businessinsider.com/100-influential-tech-people-on-twitter-2014-4?op=1&IR=T but please do let me know if I missed someone (I probably did...).

One more thing: it supports direct links to someone's influence map. Just add the Twitter handle to the URL. For instance: http://gameofangels.com/hunterwalk cc @hunterwalk

Just wanted to add something: as you can imagine, the data is quite big. So I had to define some "thresholds". For instance: the list of investors is pulled from @angellist but the algorithm only analyses those with 3k+ followers. So to be clear: there are no "manual tweaks", only "dumb" rules :-).
