There's no web app? You start with a web app (preferably a proper PWA) to cover all platforms, *then* you release mobile apps -- and if you start with iOS, you have an Android app following shortly thereafter. I don't think it makes any sense to start with an iOS app for a service like this.

Tokyo is a pilot city? Nope, not going to work there, I don't think -- not among Japanese people anyhow. Maybe US and Euro expats. The Japanese have some ingenious packaging, e.g., convenience store sushi wrapped in such a way that the seaweed never touches the rice until you pull the packaging apart. And they have individually wrapped fruit, and that sort of thing. Packaging is an integral...

If you use VS Code, I would probably just use the Polacode extension -- works on Windows and Linux, also.

When I go camping, I grind some Ristretto Roasters Sidamo beforehand, and bring along a French press -- so I'm trying to figure out when I would ever need this. Hmm. Backpackers might find it handy, I suppose. Oh, maybe you should talk to NASA. Might be appreciated on the ISS, where launch mass is a consideration. :-)

I run a Linux distro on my 4th Gen X1 Carbon. First, I can't imagine why there would be any issues with Linux -- correct? Also, would it actually offer a better typing experience than my ThinkPad? Or did you set the bar lower at Macs? And, what's the point of the ultra-slim design if it's not particularly portable? Is it just supposed to look nice?

I don't need a second horizontal display, I need a vertical display for a text editor. Cheap, portable USB-powered DisplayLink displays exist, that are cheaper and more versatile. Pros: Elegant solution for a horizontal second display Cons: No vertical/portrait orientation

**edit** Ah, I see they claim it can attach to most laptops -- not specifically designed for Macs? So this is for Mac users who do not need a display in vertical/portrait orientation. That's getting a little niche, when one can get a very portable, USB-powered DisplayLink display, configure it horizontally or vertically, and use it with their Linux or Windows-running ThinkPad, in addition to...

It's hard to understand how they can continue to not have a Linux version. Pros: It solves a real with other browsers for developers, marketers, and other web professionals. Cons: No Linux version -- for a browser ostensibly aimed at developers and other power users.

The desktop apps are Electron, right? But there's no Linux version?? That's sort of the thing about Electron -- it enables *cross-platform* apps. Otherwise, Mac and Windows people would probably really prefer native apps. If you have an Electron app, it's really not that difficult to support Linux. It ain't tough to install Ubuntu in a VM on your Mac.

Here's the deal with Crello: It's a slowly improving Canva clone -- here's the best part -- that lets you download .png files with transparent backgrounds *for free*! No other comparable tool or Canva knock-off does the same, as far as I know. If you know how to use Canva, it's very easy to pick up. Not quite as refined as Canva, but it's decent.

The Android app looks nice, and I can see the logic of the UI. Thing is, when I'm accomplishing tasks, I'm almost always on my Linux laptop -- and I tend to not have my phone handy, on purpose, to avoid distraction. So I'm really going to need a web app (or an Electron, or a native Linux app) for this to be very useful. christopher.carr@pdxwebguy.com
