hate to break it to you guys but you are missing A LOT of tricks. An AI monitor should be able to track Heart Beats (see eulerian video magnification), estimate temperature and monitor breathing rate. I did this as my college project, so for pro-programmers, this is weak. There is even a library for classification of types of crying. What parents REALLY want is an alert if the baby stops...
