About

I'm a computer science student and solo founder building Mindfold — an AI-powered learning workspace that turns topics, documents, and web content into structured learning experiences. I'm interested in AI, software, education, and building products from the ground up. I'm here to learn from other founders, meet people building interesting things, and turn Mindfold into something genuinely useful.

Vibecoding high-density UIs: How to stop AI from defaulting to "minimalist with empty space"?

Hi Product Hunt,

As a product architect working on data-heavy dashboards (like an on-site event management OS and an automated trading bot), I've been heavily exploring vibe coding lately.

The biggest friction point I've hit: AI coding agents almost always default to "modern," heavily padded UI layouts. I strongly prefer a professional "terminal" feel where I can see all critical data points at a single glance. I constantly find myself having to correct the AI because it sacrifices information density for unnecessary empty space.

Has anyone found a vibe coding tool, or a specific prompt framework, that natively understands how to generate dense, data-rich interfaces (especially integrating Dark Mode or Glassmorphism aesthetics) without needing constant manual overrides?

spent longer on auth than building the actual tool

built an on-call tracker for my team last week. maybe 3 hours. then spent the rest of the day trying to figure out how to let 6 specific people see it and nobody else

ended up with a shared password in our team chat. it works. I hate it

writing a real login system for six users feels stupid. but the shared password thing also feels stupid. what do you guys actually do

I built an app with AI. The code wasn't the hard part.

I ve been building my app mostly with AI coding tools, and the experience has been pretty weird.

At first, it feels almost like cheating.

You describe a feature AI writes it you test it repeat.

But once the app gets bigger, the problems change.
