Sysadmin by trade, not a traditional developer — I build Horizon by directing AI-assisted development rather than writing every line myself. It's a free daily digest of world news, markets, and a handful of deterministic risk indicators (cyber, disasters, sanctions, space weather...) — I wanted the "how serious is this" judgment to come from real, public thresholds, not a model's mood on a given day. Solo project, worked on around a day job. Currently pushing the Android app through Google's closed testing, iOS after that, and trying to find out if the interest I've been hearing from teachers (economics/ geopolitics classes) is a real angle worth building for.

Most "AI news" apps ask a model how severe today's news feels. Horizon doesn't, for most of it: Markets, Cyber, Disasters, Sanctions, and Space weather are all scored from fixed, public thresholds (GDACS, NOAA, OFAC/UN sanctions lists, IODA, IMF PortWatch) an LLM only picks and summarizes the day's actual world/geopolitics events, nothing else. keeps a real daily archive with dated pages (not a feed that scrolls away and disappears), publishes a public RSS feed, works in both French and English.
