I'm working on something fun for Product Hunt Meetups around the world in January 2020. If you'd like to host or join a meetup in your city please fill out this survey which only has three questions so I can start connecting you with other makers close by. Here is the survey. Thanks

Hi Makers, I've become really interested recently in what makes someone leave a job to pursue a career as a maker. I used to be an Archaeologist (its an unusual change I know). I want to know your stories. What jobs did you give up to pursue your dream? What job are you planning to leave once your Unicorn takes off? Why?
I'm asking all the makers who had some success doing their thing.
If you had the opportunity to do it again, would you do it or go to your 9-5 job and do something else like write a book or climb a mountain?
The rate at which CS engineers are graduating is honestly scary, and something doesn't add up either. The demand is high, and so is the supply. Yet, there are so many engineers who are unemployed. This points at the lack of quality in education. Amidst this huge crowd of engineers, how does one stand out? How to learn better and make some real difference?
As a developer, I have a lot of ideas for my side project. I eventually started some of them but sometimes I never really get it done. I think a lot of people have experienced the same with me. Can you share some tips to get your side projects done?
twitter, linkedin, facebook groups, github, devto, behance, producthunt, indiehackers, medium, komunity, clubhouse, IG, twitch, contra, bumblebizz, zoom, xing, meetups, reddit, in person with a mask . . . what did I miss?

Mine, is this one "Picking the right thing to work on is the most important element of productivity and usually almost ignored." from Sam Altman. I take the time each day to prioritize my tasks, meetings, etc.
Students frustrated by the lack of mission-driven technical internships created the Civic Digital Fellowship, a government internship for innovative technical students.
I'm genuinely curious about what you guys think about traveling and tourism in general post-pandemic. - How do you see yourself traveling in a post-pandemic world?
- How is tech going to be beneficial in the new normal world? I'd like to know what you think are the tools that you're going to need, requirements, etc. Thank you!
