Everyone watches the per-query cost falling toward zero.

That's the wrong number to watch.

When an AI tool is free or cheap, the value doesn't disappear. It moves to whoever controls the data going into the model and the predictions coming out of it.

The real price shows up later.

An AI task force that has never blocked a purchase order is a communications exercise, not governance.

Companies keep creating AI committees, working groups, and councils.

But forming the committee isn't governance.

Governance only exists when the group has the authority to make decisions:

Removing a connection deletes the line on the screen.

It doesn't delete what the platform already concluded from it.

That's the problem with consent models built around what you personally disclose.

Your social graph isn't created only from your data. It's built from what everyone around you reveals: their contacts, tags, memberships, and connections.
