@anna_0x awww yeah! Do you have one of those door jam pull up bars?
@rrhoover hahah yes, exactly. But I also have a bed that semi-hanging from the ceiling and I prefer using that for pull-ups because it's harder (i.e. I can do less and it's harder on my palms because of the squarish edges) πŸ˜›
@anna_0x Go for it! I can hardly do one. It's been ages since I last did a pull-upπŸ˜‚. Do you follow an exercise routine?
@harowitzblack Nope! I used to compete with my friend and we'd be constantly trying to surpass each other in doing pull-ups without breaks. At the highest point I could do 11 in a row. Then he moved and we stopped doing that so now I can do 2 in a row πŸ˜… To increase that number, I just do as many as I can, as often as I can, and when I can't do any more, I do a negatives until I can't do any more and then I stop. If it hurts, I don't do any until it doesn't hurt.
@anna_0x 2 is not bad. Why don't you find a new workout buddy? Or team up with someone else at the gym?
@harowitzblack I don't go to the gym (literally hate it in fact) πŸ˜† I can motivate myself, I'm just not great with discipline. In general I prefer going it alone. 2 is very bad when you consider I used to easily do 10 at a time πŸ˜› of course there's no one to blame but me, I just wanna get into it now, there's no excuse. I just came back from a trip and during the trip I had the excuse that I did not have a pull up bar, now I do.
@anna_0x haha, I get it. I'm the same when it comes to exercise. I joined the gym and quit after 2 weeks lol. But I do 2 kilometers of walking every day. I think that kept me fitπŸ˜‚. Have you heard about the "Compound Effect"? I'm a huge fan of it. You should read up on it a bit, also there's a book with the same name by Darren Hardy. Changed my perspective on how I viewed things in my life. How was the trip and where did you go to? I'm pretty sure there was a ground to do pushupsπŸ˜‚
@anna_0x healthy goal. Go for it and good luck
@prashantbuddy thanks!! It's a simple goal, fairly easy, so I don't need luck, just a tiiiiiny bit of discipline (even that is hard to manage it seems haha) πŸ˜›
@anna_0x This is such a smart goal I want to copy it.
@abadesi hahah why not πŸ˜‡ 1 week done ~
@anna_0x I hope your goal is going well, you're pretty much at the two weeks! 😎
@guillaumebardet haha thanks for reminding me to mark as done! Technically I did Pull-ups every day for 13 days and then took a 2 day break because I was sore (from other arm exercises) and on the go most of the time. Went from 2 to 6 pull-ups in a row when I'm not tired or sore (way less than the 11 I used to be able to do but it's a start!)
@anna_0x Haha you're welcome, glad you made it to 13 days. :) I can definitely relate, I don't do enough of them but I have a feeling I can't keep up with how many I use to do. I need to get back into a good workout routine.
@guillaumebardet yeah haha whenever I have t exercised for a while I'm like "yeah, I can totally still do 10 pull-ups, 30 push-ups etc." as long as I don't check haha I find that routines don't work well for me. It's more about finding way to workout whenever I'm doing something else. For example, I'm cooking and have to wait in the kitchen looking over the pot. I can do some push ups or crunches. Or I'm walking through my door, I can do 3 pull-ups, it'll only take a few seconds. Things like that work best for me!
