Used Emacs before, but got tired of it. Tried VSCode with a vi extension and was instantly hooked. I use it for everything now, including note taking and coding. Amazing product. Pros: pleasure to use, updates often, works on Linux, nice git integration, good search Cons: vi mode through extensions is not perfect
