Dispatch has actually made checking Slack an enjoyable and productive experience. Prior to Dispatch I would be overwhelmed with the number of notifications, have constant fatigue from re-reading the same messages over and over and trying to stay on top of what was an action item vs an FYI from my team. As a result, I checked it minimally — trying to avoid it as much as possible.
When my team member got Dispatch, I told him I wanted in. Within days of using Dispatch and being able to “mark done” the messages I had seen (reducing the constant re-reading of old messages and fatigue) and being able to assign action items to myself, I noticed I actually started enjoying staying on top of things.
Slack now feels manageable and not like an overwhelming washing machine of messages and notifications.
Most of all, my team noticed I was way more on top of just general business notifications and up to date on all the company info that gets passed over to our Slack — eg invoices being paid, new subscribers, leads, etc.
And I actually became more responsive on Slack which I noticed my team appreciated immensely.
Definitely would not want to go back to using Slack the “old way” again without Dispatch — it’s been a game changer. If you’re thinking of testing it out, do it for a week and see for yourself! Then get your team to use it and watch the real magic happen. Hard to believe this didn’t exist before!
