About

Good product work and a successful business starts with people. What they need, what they'll actually use, what's getting in their way. Everything else flows from that. I've spent my career in complex, high-stakes domains (medtech, fintech, enterprise SaaS) building product functions in environments where the playbook didn't exist. My job has always been the same: create clarity, remove blockers, and make sure the right things get built for the right reasons. Outside of my work with Breivty, I'm building CourseCove, an AI-native SaaS platform for independent educators. It keeps me sharp and honest. I'm currently open to Senior PM, Head of Product, and Director of Product roles at Series A to growth-stage companies where product depth is actually valued. If that's your team, let's talk.

Building a SaaS? ChatGPT probably recommends your competitor

Go ask it for the best tool in your category. If you're not in the answer the reason is likely not your product.

Surfer put out a study in September. They went through 289,105 pages that AI answers cite. The more of those pages mention a brand the higher it sits in the answer. ChatGPT showed this the strongest. And the mentions that count most are in regular blog posts even though blogs are under a third of what gets cited.

My first Product Hunt launch: X sent 1 vote, YouTube did the rest. What worked for you?

I launched NotchMind, a Mac app that turns the MacBook notch into a small hub, as a solo developer with under 500 followers on X. It finished #16 for the day with 76 points, and I'm at about 20 sales so far.

The traffic surprised me:

  • X, where I post the most: the tracked link brought 1 vote.

  • YouTube: my demo video has about 4.6K views, and around 73% of them came from YouTube recommending it for free. I only spent about $11 on a promotion.

  • Reddit, Hacker News and Indie Hackers all stopped me because my accounts were new. One flagged me as spam, one flagged my post, and one wouldn't let me post.

I'm trying to work out where to put my time next, so two specific questions for makers with a small audience:

🎧 What music are you listening to while working?

It s Saturday, and most of us continue working anyway...

When I m doing very intellectual tasks, I just put on my headphones - without any music - and concentrate on my thoughts.

But when I need some inspiration, or I m doing some repetitive work, there s always music in my ears.

Every activity has its own type of music for me:
