Alexandra Rush, Ph.D., is a human development researcher and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and Human Development at Empire State University. Her research focuses on how families and individuals reconstruct meaning after the trauma of war, emphasizing resilience, intergenerational transmission of traumatic effects, and posttraumatic growth. She also examines youth identity and purpose development, using mixed methods and qualitative approaches to connect research with lived human experiences. She began her academic journey at Douglass College of Rutgers University, where she majored in psychology and developed an interest in human behavior and resilience.
