OctoNote saves your notes as GitHub gists, and lets you edit them anywhere.
All developers are familiar with markdown in some form. From README's on their repos to documentation in their code to the websites they build. Many use it daily to write and share notes and long-form thoughts or docs. They also use git and, many, use GitHub to host and maintain that code.
