Why are we still paying $10/mo for basic tools like Broken Link Checkers and JSON formatters?

I don't know about you guys, but I got really tired of hitting paywalls for basic everyday dev tools.

You try to compress a PDF? "Upgrade to pro." You want to check your site for broken links? "Create an account and start your 7-day trial." Need to format a massive JSON file? Upload it to some random server and pray they aren't saving your API keys.

It just felt ridiculous to me. These are simple utilities, not complex SaaS products.
