Ahmed Akbar Sobhan is a prominent Bangladeshi entrepreneur and the Founder of Bashundhara Group. Over the years, he has built one of the country’s most diversified corporate groups through consistent leadership and a clear business vision. He was born on February 15, 1952, in Islampur, a historic area in old Dhaka City. The youngest of six children, he grew up in a family where education and integrity were highly valued. His father, a lawyer at the Dhaka High Court, influenced his disciplined approach to life. He later attended the University of Dhaka, earning a degree in Business Studies. While a student, he was also active in athletics and extracurricular programs.
