Founder of Landara: GOCS & Landed Cost

About

I have worked the cost side of inventory from a few different chairs. A decade in second-hand retail, where every unit had its own cost and nobody would dream of averaging them. Two years importing equipment where freight often rivalled the value of the goods. Six years selling drones on my own Shopify store: sourcing, freight, listing, the books. And nine years implementing inventory and accounting systems for small businesses. The same thing keeps happening. People know what the supplier charged. They have no idea what the stock cost by the time it sold, because the freight invoice hit an expense account weeks later and never found its way back to the units. They think they make 40% and they make 10% before ad spend. Landara is the narrow fix, and I intend to keep it narrow.

Landara - Perpetual FIFO cost of goods sold for Shopify

Shopify counts your stock. Landara costs it. Shopify holds one Cost per item per variant and overwrites it on every change, so last month's cost is gone and the freight invoice that lands three weeks late never reaches the units it paid for. Landara keeps a dated FIFO cost layer per receipt and draws it down oldest first, with freight and duty landed in before the layer forms. Out comes a ready-to-post journal for Xero or QuickBooks. Shopify keeps owning quantity, so there is no migration.
