I love the fact that Obsidian is built around using non-proprietary, plain-text, Markdown files. This ensure that regardless of what happens to applications and platforms, your notes will still be just as useful 10 or 20 years from now as they are today! I'm going all-in on Obsidian and suggest if owning your data is important to you, that you do too!
