Do weird subject lines in cold emails actually work?

I got a cold email with the subject line "Shik Shak Shok". No context, nothing about it in the email, then three paragraphs about warehouse software.

I opened it, read all of it. and of course didn't reply, but I still remember it, which is more than I can say for the

fifteen "Quick question, Andriana?" emails sitting above it.

So it won my attention and lost the deal. I can't decide if that counts as working.

We're at war with Closed Source & at #1 on PH today

We just launched @Dograh , the open-source alternative to Retell and Vapi for building voice agents.

Self-hostable, so you own your stack and your data.

We started it out of rage - every tool was too expensive, too closed, or scammy (addon after addons).
So we open-sourced every line from day 0, on one belief: no company should own voice AI.
Big labs are lobbying with govts to ban open source.

More open source is how we fight back.
