Why not just tip the glass in the freezer if you really want a wedge of ice? (which seems a little silly, anyway)

😎 The tagline alone earns my upvote. Really cool product idea too. A novel approach to fancy ice cubes.

Put it together with this - http://www.producthunt.com/posts... - And dad will have a ball of a time. Whiskey that's chilled and aged well. Perfect gift :)

I'm a big fan of bourbon, it's my go-to and I was gifted the whiskey wedge. It's a cool concept and aesthetically pleasing but I didn't find it to cool my bourbon like a solid sphere would do and the wedge came off from the glass while sipping, so that's not fun. All in all, a nice gift that looks great, just wasn't a fit for me.
@kicksopenminds I just commented at the end then saw your comment. Personally, I have both and the wedge just doesn't cut it... I use the single sphere's from my bourbon or scotch sipping.
Anyone know if this works with a normal circular glass though?

Looks great but my only concern would be that holding the glass would melt the ice and dilute drink.

@conradd the simple science of it is the same as when you get a highball glass with a massive cube that the larger surface area of the cube allows for slower melting. similar to how a block of ice for tailgating lasts you longer than crushed. I have one of these wedges and really dig it.
