Nice! That README alone is already gold!

Creator of the Hackathon Starter here. Feel free to ask me anything about the project.

@evnowandforever Thanks! I don't participate in hackathons anymore, but still tinker with a lot of app ideas every now and then. This project seems perfect to start those ideas with for a quick validation. Very helpful.

@evnowandforever good job on that. I am pretty sure it helps a lot to just get started or familiar with node.js, like I am hoping for myself. I am a total beginner with node.js ... do you have any tipp about hosting the first app? I would like to play around with it, but don't want to spend money for hosting?
Sahat Yalkabov
@toabsorb Heroku, I believe is still the best for that, even after their recent changes to free tier. It's very easy to get started, no need for configs, it just works. Check out Deployment section in Hackathon Starter readme for step by step instructions on how to deploy your app with various hosting providers.

Think i'll use this for the Product Hunt Hackathon https://www.facebook.com/events/...

Here is something that I've wondered about it. When you started Hackathon Starter, did you plan for it to appeal to a lot of other people, or is it a case of making something for yourself and others just found it and liked it too unexpectedly?
Sahat Yalkabov
@katimichel I primarily created it for others, knowing how difficult it was for me when I first started learning about concepts required for web development — database, oauth, back-end, front-end, rest api, 3rd party api integration, gulp, webpack, unit testing. Plus I was still a college student at the time and needed to have something in my portfolio before graduation. But I never expected that Hackathon Starter would receive so much publicity and positive feedback!

@evnowandforever I'm surprised to hear you say that it was difficult for you. Seems to come so easily to you now. I have heard of this quite often lately, with developers (who knew nothing and worked day after day to get better) and with conference speakers (who seem very good at it, but say that they are a nervous wreck before speaking). It's a good reminder that everyone starts somewhere.

This is a really helpful project. Thanks, @EvNowAndForever!

Looks really cool, and as Adrian says, even just the README is pretty cool :)
