Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm the maker of Zirka, and here's why I built it.
My kid is starting 4th grade this September. Over the summer - watching him about to enter a new school year - I kept thinking about one problem we'd been dealing with for a while: homework.
We made a deliberate choice in our family to restrict ChatGPT and AI tools for our son. We didn't want the learning process ruined before it even had a chance. But what we didn't anticipate is that my wife and I became the substitutes. Every evening, one of us would sit down to help - and half the time we were quietly Googling topics ourselves just to be able to explain them. It was time-consuming, and honestly, exhausting.
So this summer, before 4th grade started, I decided to build something.
Zirka is a family learning app powered by a Socratic AI tutor. The core mechanic is simple: the AI never just gives the answer. It asks guiding questions, encourages the child to try, and only reveals a full explanation once the child has made genuine attempts. Parents get a simple session log and notifications when their child studies.
It's not in the App Store or Play Store yet - this is a very early alpha, and the service is completely free. I'm looking for families who want to try it and share honest feedback.

The Socratic approach feels way more useful than I expected — my kid actually had to think through the problem instead of just copying an answer. Following their progress from my phone is a nice touch too.

This is the thing I want to exist. Not another app that finishes the homework, but one that sits with a kid until the idea clicks. That click is the whole point of school, and it's the first thing that disappears when a machine just hands over the answer.
Parents get to see their kid actually working through something instead of wondering what got copied. And see their thinking process.
Wishing this one a great launch. It deserves to find the families who need it.
