ZestSSH is a cross-platform SSH client (Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, Linux) built on one idea: own your tools, don't rent them. No subscription, ever. One-time $9.99, free tier needs no account and unlimited connections. Sync hosts and keys with zero-knowledge encryption on storage you control (WebDAV, S3, Drive, self-host), the server only holds blobs it can't read. Server monitoring, port forwarding, SFTP, import from PuTTY. Capstone project that turned real. Still just me.
Hey Product Hunt. I'm the solo dev behind ZestSSH.
This started as my cybersecurity capstone. My classes had us on PuTTY and I couldn't stand it, so I built my own SSH client on the side, mostly for me. Classmates started using it, liked it more than what we were assigned, and it slowly turned into a real product I kept building long after the assignment was done.
It's on Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Linux. The free tier needs no account and gives unlimited connections. There's a one-time $9.99 unlock for the heavier stuff (automation, port forwarding, jump hosts), and sync is free on any storage you run yourself (WebDAV, S3, Drive, self-hosted), all zero-knowledge, encrypted on your device before it leaves, so I only ever hold blobs I can't read.
The one thing I care about most: no subscription, ever. You buy a licence, not a lease. If you stop paying me, the app keeps working.
It's just me building this, no company. I'd love feedback, especially on the crypto and sync architecture, there's a whitepaper and the SSH core is open source, both linked on the site. Tear it apart.
