In 2012 electronic invoicing became mandatory in Turkey. I was one of the pioneers of that industry at that time. Established one of the first service provider companies in the country. I believed electronic invoicing will be the future of digital commercial financing. Then electronic email receipts followed that legislation. Most consumers suffered the inconvenience of sharing their emails and receiving them in their personal inboxes. That was a bottleneck in the industry. In 2019 I moved to Canada and started to work on e-invoicing and receipts. E-invoicing had a long way to go because it is strictly bonded with regulations and laws but the receipt side is more flexible and ready. I noticed the same bottleneck for e-receipts in North America. Every day a new merchant starts to issue email receipts but they can't operate as fast as they expect. Because consumers don't want to share their emails. If they do, they are aware that they will receive a lot of marketing and spam emails. On the other hand, most of the companies in North America are small-sized companies and every penny makes a change. So they need to deduct their expenses as much as they can to pay less tax and gain more. But in real life, they can't collect every receipt that they spent for their businesses. This costs a lot annually. I also aimed to help SMEs to collect, organize and file their all expenses easily. And at the end, nearly all cashiers use thermal paper for the receipts and there are tons of negative effects of the paper itself and especially thermal paper receipts. They all dangerous for human health, environment and nature.
