Turn long YouTube videos into actionable summaries in seconds. YouTube Summarizer is a privacy-first Chrome extension that uses your own AI API key with Gemini, OpenAI, Claude, DeepSeek, or Grok. No accounts, subscriptions, or servers. Get structured summaries with key points, learnings, quotes, chapters, Q&A, and more.

Love that it uses my own key and skips the server stuff. One thing that would make it way more useful for me is timestamped chapters that link back to the exact moment in the video, so I can jump straight to the part a summary point came from.
One thing I'd love is the ability to compare summaries from two different models side by side, so I can quickly see which one pulls out better insights for the same video without having to switch tabs.
@iozamaratl92Thanks for the suggestion! I have a couple of questions:
Do you see this as something that should be behind a feature toggle? I imagine many users will only have one API key configured, and even those with multiple providers may not want to compare summaries for every video.
Would you expect both summaries to be generated automatically in one click, or would you prefer selecting a second model only when you want to compare?
