Free Full-Stack Infrastructure Monitoring for Server, Virtualization, Storage, Database, Cloud, Container, SAN, LAN, Backup, Tape, Mainframe
This looks promising for smaller teams that can't afford the big monitoring suites. One thing that would make it way more useful for me: Slack or Microsoft Teams integration with customizable alert thresholds, so my on-call channel gets pinged only when something actually crosses a real severity bar. Right now I avoid alerts-fatigue by sticking to email, which slows down response time. A native chat integration with smart grouping of related incidents would be a great addition.
Finally tried this out and the breadth of coverage caught me off guard, especially seeing tape and mainframe alongside containers in one dashboard. Nice to find something free that doesn't feel like a stripped-down demo.
Honestly shocked this is free. Set it up on a small VMware cluster and it picked up hosts, datastores, and even our backup jobs without much fuss. The UI feels a little dense but the depth is impressive.
Would love to see a lightweight mobile app or push notifications for critical threshold breaches. Right now I have to keep a browser tab open to catch alerts, which is tough when I'm away from my desk. Even a simple read-only dashboard with alert toggles would make daily monitoring way easier.
