WrapScribe: Dictation that never leaves your Mac

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built WrapScribe because I dictate a lot — Slack messages, emails, meeting notes — and I was tired of two things: cloud dictation tools that upload everything I say to some server, and the raw transcript that comes out full of “um,” “uh,” and half-finished sentences I then have to clean up by hand. WrapScribe fixes both: 🎙️ You talk, your Mac types — in whatever app you’re already in. Hold ‎`fn`, speak, let go. Clean text appears at your cursor. No window to switch to. ✨ It cleans up what speech does to sentences. Fillers gone, punctuation added, self-corrections resolved. “Push it to Thursday — no, Wednesday” comes out as just “Wednesday.” 🔒 Nothing leaves your Mac. Ever. Transcription runs on Apple’s on-device speech models, cleanup runs on Apple Intelligence. There’s no API key to paste, and no endpoint on our side that could even receive your audio. It works fully offline. A few things I’m proud of: - Meeting notes — record Zoom/Meet/Teams calls as two separate tracks (you vs. them), get transcripts + AI notes, all made locally. - “Hey WrapScribe, reply to this email” — say what you want done, not just what to type. - 99 languages via local Whisper models — including Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil and Bengali. - It’s a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
