I've always enjoyed writing, but in short poetic rhyming bursts. And I love the 3D pan and zoom control capabilities of map user interfaces. And I really wanted to get at something that leveraged AI for content generation in a way that might spark or augment human creativity instead of just replacing. So the result is words.fun, a web app that, at least for me, really brings a smile. I can write and satisfy my creative itch to play around with words and rhyming. I continue writing, in a direction that satisfies a directorial itch, by telling AI, very specifically yet also creatively, how to generate both still images and a short video that represents my words. It uses Gemini models for image and video generation and ElevenLabs for text to audio. And I can have a direct private link to my words, that I can share with others, that is like an online digital card, sort of a mini-booklet page-turner, that others can hear and see my words in on-screen motion. Sort of... But it is fun.
