Hi Product Hunt 👋
In 2010, a garden designer named Itaru Sasaki put a disconnected telephone inside a white phone booth in his garden in Ōtsuchi, Japan, so he could talk to his cousin who had died. After the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, people who had lost family began traveling there to "call" the people they could no longer reach. The idea was simple: the wind carries your words to them.
Most of us can't travel to Japan, and grief doesn't wait for a plane ticket. Many of us carry words we never got to say: a goodbye, an apology, a thank you, a letter we never sent. Online tools for grief are often public, social, or built to answer back. I wanted the opposite: a place that listens and doesn't reply, and keeps nothing.
Why I built it: I was inspired by the wind phone concept (a disconnected telephone) where people can "talk" freely to anyone they miss. This is the same concept in digital form.
How it works:
Write to someone you miss.
Press release, and your words blur and fade away.
The page forgets. Nothing you write is saved or sent anywhere.
Details I cared about:
A calm meadow and soft, generated music (it starts quietly, and one tap turns it off)
Built for accessibility: keyboard and screen reader friendly, reduced-motion support, and no information that depends on sound
Free to use, with an optional donation if it helps you
I'd love your feedback, especially on how the experience feels and what would make it gentler. Thank you for reading, and be kind to yourself today. 🍃
