Hi Product Hunt! I'm Bill, and I made Word Sprouts.
My wife is a grade school educator and a mother, and she was looking for a word search app for our autistic son to use. She also wanted the ability to create custom puzzles based off of spelling words. So, I set out to make just that app and my son loves it.
Word Sprouts is a word search app for kids in pre-K through 2nd grade. A few things I cared about:
• Every word is read aloud. Tap the speaker and kids hear it, so even pre-readers can play.
• Your own spelling list becomes a puzzle. Type up to 12 words (or upload a .txt list), pick a grade and skill level, and it's on the home screen ready to play.
• Built for little hands. Big letter tiles, drag or tap first and last letter, no timers and no scores to lose.
• Four grades, 60+ puzzles, each with Easy, Medium and Tricky levels, plus a one-tap switch to lowercase letters.
