WonderBreak is an Android app for bite-sized trivia you can enjoy right away—no prompting required. Browse thousands of built-in facts, adjust genres and difficulty, use read-aloud and auto-advance, and on supported devices generate additional trivia with on-device AI. The goal is to explore what AI feels like when it becomes a casual, built-in part of everyday entertainment rather than a separate work tool.

Hi Product Hunt! I’m the solo developer behind WonderBreak.
I was initially skeptical of generative AI, but using it in practice changed my view. That made me wonder whether AI could be something people enjoy casually—not just a tool for work or productivity.
That led to WonderBreak: a bite-sized trivia app for people who want something interesting to browse during a short break, without having to think of a prompt. It includes thousands of built-in facts, so the app works without AI too. You can adjust genres and difficulty, use read-aloud and auto-advance, and on supported Android devices generate additional trivia directly on-device.
I chose on-device AI partly because cloud AI APIs can become expensive for a small independent app, especially when users generate content repeatedly. But the bigger reason is that I believe on-device AI will become much more capable over time. For casual, everyday AI experiences, it feels like a particularly good fit: no API key setup, no per-request cloud cost, and AI can simply become another built-in part of the app. I wanted to start exploring that kind of consumer use case early, even while the technology is still limited today.
Building it taught me that “correct information” and “interesting trivia” are very different problems. I also found that asking AI to improve its own prompts did not always solve the issue—human evaluation and hypothesis-building were still necessary.
The current app is only the first step. My longer-term goal is a personalized knowledge feed that can generate trivia, general knowledge, and practical tips based on each user’s interests and knowledge level.
I’d especially appreciate feedback on the on-device AI concept and whether this kind of casual AI-powered knowledge app feels useful or fun to you.
