We Were Here: A quiet, permanent record of work — before AI changes it.

Hi — I'm the person behind We Were Here. I'm a stay-at-home dad, caring for my son who has autism, and building this in between everything else that involves. I kept noticing how fast work is changing right now, and how little of that change ever actually gets remembered by the people living through it. So this is a 500,000-tile canvas — place a moment, your role, country, year, for $3 — a small, permanent mark that you were here, doing that job, before it changed. I built it solo, working with Claude for most of the actual implementation — this has genuinely been as much about proving to myself I could create something real, on my own terms, as it is about the idea itself. It's very early. A couple of tiles placed so far. Genuinely curious what people think, good or bad — happy to answer anything.
