Hi everyone! I'm excited to share WatchAlong.me. I built WatchAlong.me to make watching videos together as simple as sharing a link. There are no sign-ups, no downloads, and it's completely free. You can watch YouTube, Vimeo, HLS streams, and direct video URLs in perfect sync with built-in video chat, live chat, collaborative drawing, sticker reactions, and customizable chat themes. The goal was to create a more social experience than just synchronized playback. The browser extension for subscription streaming services is currently under development, but the core web experience is fully available today. Synced up a quick watch party with a friend and the playback stayed perfectly in time, chat was snappy too. Wish the room creation was a bit more obvious for first-timers, but overall really clean experience.

Finally tried this with a couple friends last night and the sync held up perfectly even on bad wifi. The link-to-join setup meant zero friction, which honestly is the only way I'd ever get my group to commit to a virtual movie night.
