Hello PH!
I'm Peter, the maker behind Walk Mode, an iPhone app for casual everyday walking.
Why I built Walk Mode: I walk a lot and I wanted an app that helps me plan better routes and find interesting places along the way. Most walking apps I tried were either too focused on fitness stats or just basic GPS trackers. I wanted something that made me want to walk more, not something that made me feel like I was training for something.
What makes Walk Mode different:
- Plan scenic routes that you actually enjoy
- Discover nearby places while you walk
- Track your progress without pressure
- Earn optional badges if you want them
- Share your walks and experiences with friends
You need to sign in to use the app, and you can share your walks with friends once you're logged in.
I'm here all day to answer questions, happy to chat about the app or just hear how you like to walk.

the no-pressure framing really stands out, feels refreshing for a walking app to actually let you just walk instead of chasing streaks or metrics.
Thank you Yunus! That is exactly the point with the app. The goal is not to replace or compete with fitness focused app, but to encourage you to have a more active everyday life.
