Hi everyone 👋 I built VulnTracker because I was personally tired of constantly checking CVE feeds and still feeling unsure if I was missing something important. As a developer, security was never something I wanted to ignore — but tracking vulnerabilities across multiple sources quickly became a mental burden. Most of the time, I was reading about issues that didn’t even affect the products I was using. So instead of trying to “fix security,” I focused on a simpler idea: What if developers didn’t have to actively track vulnerabilities at all? With VulnTracker, you just tell us which products you use. If a vulnerability actually affects them, we notify you. No endless feeds, no unnecessary alerts — just a signal when action is required. During development, the biggest shift was realizing that minimalism matters more than feature count. The goal wasn’t to build another heavy security platform, but to make vulnerability tracking quieter and more manageable — especially for small teams and developers without dedicated security roles. VulnTracker is still evolving, and early feedback has already shaped a lot of decisions.
