Hey everyone! 👋
I built Volentroop solo from scratch: product, design, content, SEO, and coding. I gathered 450+ listings across 70+ countries in under 2 months and it is still growing. I have a technical background, a genuine passion for travel, and I move fast and build lean.
The idea came from my own frustration: I wanted to volunteer abroad, and every platform I found was expensive, complicated, or made me pay just to see program details. GoOverseas, GoEco, and Workaway, they all treat discovery as a premium feature, charging fees or requiring accounts just to browse.
What they don't get is that the map is the product. People don't want to fill out a form to find a volunteer program. They want to open a map, see what's near them or in a country they love, and click through in seconds.
Volentroop is the only platform that puts an interactive world map front and center, completely free, with zero barriers between you and the opportunity.
I launched in mid-May 2026, and our organic stats show people want this: 200+ visitors with a 30% bounce rate and 13+ pages per session!
Please help me make my dream come true! I'd love your feedback, questions, or just a hello in the comments!

How are the volunteer opportunities vetted, and do projects cover room and board or is that on the volunteer entirely?
Regarding vetting: every listing is reviewed before it goes live, and I additionally run a QA check on all programs ~every two weeks to confirm they're still active and that the listed URLs haven't changed or gone offline.
On room and board: each listing card shows what the program provides (accommodation, meals, etc.), and where a program charges a fee, that's indicated as well. There's also a filter that lets you show only free programs if that's what you're looking for. If the information is nowhere to be found, you can allways double check on the URL itself and let me know that there is an issue with the specific card.
