Hi Product Hunt! I get a lot of voice messages in languages I don't speak, and replaying them never helped. So I built VoiceNote Translator.

It puts a Translate button next to every voice message, in WhatsApp Web (through a small browser extension) and in the WhatsApp desktop app (through a read-only overlay). Click it, and a few seconds later you read what they said, in plain English, with the original transcript one click away.

A few things I cared about:

• Private: your API key stays in your Mac's Keychain, audio goes only to the model you choose (OpenRouter or any OpenAI-compatible API), and the extension has no network access at all.

• Cheap: a one-minute voice note costs well under a cent, and each note is only ever translated once.

• Native: a real menu bar app that opens at login and updates itself, with about 1–2% CPU while WhatsApp is in front.
