Hello my fellow language learners, Today I would like to introduce you to my new iOS application called VocabulAir that I have been working on as a side project for the past one and a half years. The VocabulAir app is a digital representation of a flashcards box. I developed this app because non of the apps I found on the AppStore fitted my need when I started learning Chinese. I wanted an app that would allow me to create new cards using the Apple Pencil on my iPad. Many languages have special characters that are difficult to enter on the keyboard. For example, Chinese or Arabic characters but also various accents in languages like French or German. In this case writing the words and characters using a pencil is a lot easier for learners. I also wanted the cards to be synchronized between my iPad and iPhone via iCloud, so that I could learn while on the bus, waiting for a doctor’s appointment or simply while going for a walk. Learning should be fun and playful, and for that reason I wanted to be able to easily swipe through the cards just like on a dating app. Colorful cards should also contribute to making learning more fun. The app allows you to favorite a card, and you can see all of your favorites at a glance: This is ideal for preparing for a test or if you just want to save some especially important words so you can easily review them from time to time. And finally: The app ist free, only if you want to use automatic translations would you need to subscribe in order to use that functionality. There is a trial period of 3 days for testing the automatic translations. I am looking forward to your feedback and hope you will also find the app usefull! Best regards, Daniel
