I take a lot of screenshots: to show someone a bug, to explain a step, to point at the one number that matters. The tools I tried were great on one computer and missing on the other, or they turned a simple thing into a subscription. So I built the one I wanted: the same small app on a Mac and on Windows, that does the everyday job well and costs one price.

What it does:

- Press the shortcut, drag, and the screenshot is copied and saved

- Draw on it: arrows, boxes, numbered steps, text, highlights, a spotlight, and a solid block to hide private details

- Make it look good on a backdrop with rounded corners and a soft shadow

- New in 1.0: copy the words straight off your screen, read on your own computer

- Record your screen with sound, then pause, start again or send it

What it doesn't do: scrolling capture, or capturing a window by clicking it.
