I built VibePulse because I kept switching windows to check how much AI usage I had left and whether a coding agent was still working. Sometimes it had been waiting for an answer while I was looking somewhere else.
VibePulse puts that information on a small physical AMOLED display on your desk: Claude Code and Codex usage, live agent activity, and a NEEDS YOU alert when an agent needs your input. With the optional interaction bridge, you can also answer supported prompts with a tap on the screen.
The software is open source under MIT. You bring a supported ESP32-S3 display and run the host service on a Mac or Windows PC. No VibePulse account is needed in local mode, and optional cloud relays are off by default. There's also a simulator if you want to try the interface before buying hardware.
This is a DIY project that I'm continuing to improve. The repository includes setup guides and board-specific limitations.
