I wish I had this tool available to me when I was running analytics at OMGPOP (social gaming). There is only so much I could learn from users in mysql, no matter how complex my queries got. Are you having fun? Is this game lame? Why aren't you buying these sweet virtual items? I really really really wish I had a tool like Viable that I could use to structure the qualitative feedback from our users and turn it into actionable gems. That would have saved our players a lot of headaches, and perhaps instead of selling for $200M we could have sold for $2B.
This is really really cool. At Fluent we're really big on continuous user interviews (have over 50 hours of 1-1s currently). What we found was that the biggest problem is looking back at all of the text later and generating usable insights from the qualitative data. Doing it manually takes forever, and this type of feedback isn't as easy to sift as quantitative feedback like engagement numbers, so it gets pushed to the back burner.
Really excited by what your team is doing here, this can genuinely become a game changer!
Hello PH!
Product-market fit is the number one reason why startups succeed; the lack of product-market fit is the number one reason why startups fail.
That's why I built the Product-Market Fit Engine: https://firstround.com/review/how-superhuman-built-an-engine-to-find-product-market-fit/
The Product-Market Fit Engine gives you clear, quantified, and benchmarked answers to the following questions:
❶ "Do we have product-market Fit?" (<40%? Not yet!)
❷ "Should we pivot?" (15-20% Probably!)
❸ "How do we get to product-market fit?" (Run the engine!)
❹ "How do we design our roadmap?" (Run the engine!)
❺ "How do we balance our vision against customer feedback?" (Run the engine!)
The Engine worked wonders for Superhuman, and since then I have used it to help dozens of companies find PMF.
The only problem is that it is hard to build and maintain. At Superhuman, we spent 100s of hours over the course of a year to string together TypeForm, Airtable, Sendwithus, HelpScout, and more into a system that works.
That's why I am super-excited that Dan and Jeff have turned the Engine into its own product. Viable Fit makes running the Engine fast, easy, and — somehow (this is a testament to their great design chops) — fun!
I know that Dan and Jeff would love all the feedback in the world. So if you're a founder, sign up here: https://www.viable.fit. It may very well change your trajectory! 😄 🙏
I've been using Viable for the last few months here at Curri and I can honestly say that it is the first AI product I've used that feels... magical. Not only that, once you get past the wow factor, it is actually useful! My favorite part is the Slack integration that lets everyone on your team use it collaboratively in a super low friction way.
The pace of iteration over the last few months has been incredible, so I'm really excited to see what this team cooks up over the next few months and years!
